I reinstall the Mac OS X, but why does not my web cam?
Ok, so I was having some problems with my Mac OS X 10.4 laptop, so I was suggested by a colleague to put in a installiation CD that came with my computer and reinstall (without deleting anything). As So I just did this and it worked. . . except my built in camera does not work for some reason. I clicked photo booth and simply says "Photobooth can not be used because the camera is in use by another application. Close the application using the camera, then try to open Photo Booth again. "The little green light is not lit and there is absolutely no other applications open. I tried again using the function of iMovie HD recording built-in camera and it was only a blue screen. The aid, said he needed to have iChat. Well, I have to. . . . What is the problem? Sorry for these details, but any help would be great!
1.The if the problem is specific to the application. Try another application (iSight works with applications such as iChat, PhotoBooth, iMovie HD 6) to see if the iSight camera exhibits the same behavior in all applications. If only occur in an application, try reinstalling. 2. See if the problem is user specific. Testing the iSight camera in another user account. If the problem only occurs on a user, the problem would be to isolate the user settings. 3. Find out if the computer recognizes the iSight Check System Profiler (in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder). Under the heading USB, check to see if iSight camera is detected. 4. Reset your SMC or PMU team, then check System Profiler again. Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape) Restart (Control-Command-Power) Force Shut Down (press the power button for 10 seconds) only to perform an SMC reset on the computer if the previous steps to solve the problem. If this is the case, see below for instructions on locating the reset button or key combination for your model of MacBook or MacBook Pro If the computer is on, turn it off. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery from the computer. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button. Return connect the AC adapter and battery. Press the power button to restart the computer. Hopefully this will get your iSight to work without having to take it to the shop Apple or sent to get fixed and best of luck. Just a side note in all the sites i mentioned it is found that "If the screen is blue or black, can have a problem with the camera. "so I hope not the case.
