It was only a couple of weeks I spoke looking over operating costs of any printer you're looking for for purchase as the initial purchase price may only be the smallest part of the equation when choosing what to buy. It seems a little chance, then, that today I heard news about a new rule that allows consumers to compare the potential for ongoing operating expenses was being driven by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

The OFT has asked the industry to develop a standard method of testing for all inkjet cartridges and although it was originally supposed to have reached in late 2003, the industry gave more time to prepare. Recently, the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) approved new rules for cartridges can be accurately compared against each other for consumers.
To emulate the way the average user to print three different types of documents use is black text and graphics, color graphics or photographs. The three types of documents are generally in the current tests printers unless there are limitations to prevent any of the above tests have been completed successfully. All these tests are carried out under controlled conditions at the same temperature and humidity as the home Average / office and the tests were carried out in an almost continuous line, with normal breaks being taken to change the paper.
