How do I use the screen of my Nikon D3000 to take a picture?
I received a Nikon D300 digital camera for Christmas. It is a camera fantastic, but I can only use the viewfinder to take a picture. I'd be able to use the screen to take photos. Can you help me?
Why Why would you want to use a perfectly good camera, fully adjustable as you would a P & S camera? The good news is you can not. No live view that camera, so will have to use them as photographers have been using for decades, looking through the viewfinder. Think for a minute. How much movement the camera (which makes blurry) do you think is going to be in pictures when holding a camera almost two pounds at arm's length? The other point I think I have to do is live view is really only used when the camera is connected to either a microscope or telescope, and in both cases, connected to an AC adapter, because the use of large LCD a lot of battery power. Again there is the live view is used and that is when the camera is on a tripod and is a product photography studio … again using an AC adapter. It has a totally different camera now. Forget any bad habits you have learned with a P & S and start learning how to accurately shoot camera as photographers have done for decades. To learn how to do that, you can take a photography class if only to learn how to carry out properly the camera (which is in your user manual.) Perhaps the only way to learn how to use a camera is to take your time. Stop using the "auto" settings ", Programme" setup and go right to use the camera in manual mode and use the light meter in the viewer to choose their exposure and see what happens when shooting at slow shutter speeds or with the aperture wide open.
