can you help me with my memory card and card reader?
Everytime I turn on my camera the screen says that the card needs to be formated but I don’t want to lose my pictures. It won’t let me plug it into the computer and upload it. If I buy a memory card reader will I be able to get the pictures on to my computer?
It sounds like your memory card is corrupted.
Questions:
* did you buy your memory card from a reputable store?
* do you ever delete images from your card using the delete button?
* do you always format the card after safely copying all your image files to your computer?
If you bought your card from a store on eBay, the chances are it could be fake.
If you ever delete images from your memory card using the delete button, you may have a corrupted card
If you fail to format your card after each successful transfer of files to your computer, you could have a corrupted card.
What to do?
If your computer does not have a card reader, buy a USB card reader for around $10
Buy an extra card and use it until you can recover your images off the bad card
Buy an image recovery program from Lexar or San Disk … the free ones may or may not work.
Use the card reader to attempt a recovery on the bad card.
