Does a Blackberry Curve 8330 suport a 16GB micro SD card?
I think I remember reading somewhere that it dosn’t but when i looked on the blackberry sight it didnt mention any restrictions. If anyone has a Blackberry Curve 8330 and they have a 16 GB memory card in could you please tell me?
Yes, OS version 4.5 supports up to 16gb micro SDHC cards. OS 4.3 only supports up to 8gb.
If you have Verizon as a carrier, you can visit their site or google “blackberry 8330 4.5.0.77″ and follow the verizon download results.
You will need to visit blackberry’s site first, however, and download the latest “desktop manager” software package.
Once you’ve installed the latest desktop manager (4.6), run the os that you downloaded 4.5.0.77…
Finally, start the desktop manager, connect your bberry to you computer, and follow the screen instructions.
It will ask you if you want to upgrade… Hit yes.. It will then back up your entire device… And finally it will begin installing the new OS, and then restore all you programs, files, emails etc…
The entire process of upgrading takes about 45min though!
Also, if you don’t have Verizon, don’t sweat it. Just open “my computer” and double click on drive C: … And search (F3) for “vendor.xml” and delete it. All that file does is verify and install for Verizon phones only.
NOTE: You carriers specific Software does not change… Only the “look and feel” software is upgraded with the new software.
