Is SanDisk Extreme III 2GB SD Card Memory Card a lot better then the normal SanDisk 2GB SD ?
I’m thinking of which one to buy for my camera, but I don’t know which one to get. Money doesn’t really matter, as I can get the Normal one for £8 and the Extreme for £12
Is the extreme much better then the normal one, or just slightly better?
Only if you are shooting video on a P&S camera or if you are shooting “shootgun” method action shots. Most sports and action photographers shoot at the peak of action, so shooting at high fps speeds (the reason for highspeed cards) is not necessary.
You can test for yourself .. buy one of each and then do your test. I have both in my cache of memory cards, but have never had to wait for my card to “catch up” and I always shoot RAW + JPEG Basic.
If you decide to spend the extra £4, check before you buy and make sure your camera supports highspeed cards. Many of the older DSLR’s (three or four years old) do not support speeds over about 40x
