Buying a digital camera, SLR – Nikon?
I want to buy a Nikon SLR. I know nothing about semi-professional cameras, but I'm eager to learn. Please help me decide which model I choose. Nikon D60, Nikon Coolpix P90? I just want stunning photos, especially landscapes and portraits.
Do not miss the D60 just because it is called "entry level". This unpretentious camera is very well done, it costs a fortune, has lots of features and is capable of producing stunning photos, depending on the user. This is my vision of what you are getting, which are not, and that's why I bought it. What you are getting is Nikon engineering in a compact body with good ergonomics and very all the features you need to shoot in most situations, that is, for people who enjoy photography as a creative hobby, not a profession. If you are a normal person, like me, that occasional shots, likes creativity and the results of the quality requirements, the D60 is a good camera to work. It is lightweight and comfortable without being weak. That means you are more likely to with you, rather than debating whether to keep a semi-pro heavy beast. You also have the latest technology and EXPEED processor, in-camera RAW conversion and Active D-Lighting. And you get 18-55VR lens. I added the 55-200VR. Both lenses are lightweight and capable. Between the lens and light meter, I have taken some really amazing photos in various situations. Optically the lenses are not fast, but VR works well to stabilize the camera when necessary. My plan is to add Main fast low light and daily use. This is what it is not get-Live View mode. I liked this in my P & S and I miss him, but I remember this feature really drains battery life, which was really annoying (and have not perfected yet SLRs) .- N autofocus with older Nikon AF, but The D60 has a feature that lets you lift rangefinder analog meter centered visor. "You do not get a lot of shortcut buttons on the body. There some, but most image adjustments must be made in a grid on the LCD. It's pretty easy to do and keeps the D60 clear, but I would like much rather have the buttons. -Finally, the higher-end models in general, give a strong build quality, a larger, brighter viewfinder and a system More enhanced with more AF points AF. However, the D60 is no slouch in these areas. Its display is bright and his 3-point AF seems fast enough for me. I have to say though, I really liked the handling of the other, tough and strong SLR cameras like the Nikon D300 and Canon 40D, but when the chips are down, only they do not want to carry all that weight around, especially on holidays. You have to decide if you really want all the features of a high-end camera because it really increases the size, weight and all costs. Everything is a balance. My main reason for choosing Nikon over Canon and Olympus was because they use a larger image sensor, followed by Canon, Olympus was too small. I took the measurements of these sensors, told each of them in a grid next to each other and the difference in size in fact became apparent. And while other brands are doing a great job with image quality and some critics try to explain the issue of size, yet I think EVERY little bit of help from real estate sensor image quality. But, well that's just me. In terms of ergonomics, which considered some royalties but felt rather square and close to me, and all use that nasty pop-up strobe flash as AF assist light. Nikon uses a steady light. I loved the Olympus 420, but it was so compact that the owner of the metal strap constantly dug into my middle finger. Assembling a large lens felt strangely unbalanced. The E510 is very comfortable, even more than the D60. It really helps to pick up and handle these models. Buy a digital SLR body is like buying a computer. The sensor is heart of the camera, so he looked for the latest model with the latest processor. I liked the D80, but despite that this is a great body, could not see spending hundreds more than what is considered a "team 2 years old," which can be interrupted before. Unless you're a professional, you're probably going to buy a digital SLR body only, so I would say that investing in one with the current technology enough to last for a while along with the most features you think you need. That's where the D60 comes into play is a good balance of current technology at a reasonable price. The fact that you are even considering this model means that the value is of concern to you, so striking that balance is important. Yes, you may miss a bell or a whistle from here to there, but in general is a great little camera. The meter works fine, the processor is fast, the lenses are sharp, the images are excellent. And the price is correct. Price around $ 550
