Do you really need a hidden camera?
The first and most important, the question you have to do is "How will I use this?" Is it for use as "Nanny Cam" to ensure that their children are being cared for properly? Are you trying to stop employee theft? Is experiencing repeated acts of vandalism? A hidden camera should only be used to document suspected illegal or dangerous activity when there is no other way to catch the culprit.
A major problem is that hidden cameras are used too often for less than ethical reasons. Recently news came across my desk from one owner of an apartment building that had connected four apartments with hidden cameras. Was placed in bathrooms and bedrooms of tenants. Fortunately, the cameras were discovered accidentally and the owner was arrested and is in jail. I am sure that is not an isolated case.
One way to ensure that you are not a victim of a hidden camera or microphone is buying and using a signal detector. They are more commonly known as "bug detectors. We've all seen these used in TV and movies. Simply turn the unit on the handheld and walk around the room or "sweep" of the room. The signal detector collects the signal transmitted by the hidden camera or microphone and helps you locate your exact position. When searching for a hidden camera or a microphone, look everywhere. Bugs come in many shapes and sizes and can be smaller than a dime. If you find a hidden camera or microphone, do not touch. Call the police immediately and let them handle it.
If you want a hidden camera for a good reason, many types to choose from. Most hidden cameras are embedded in everyday objects found around a home such as clocks, radios, thermostats, smoke detectors, lamps, etc. You name it and could contain a hidden camera. When deciding what type of hidden camera you want, make sure you fit into the decor of the room. As an example, I do not think I will wear a bright neon lit Nice clock in my room contemporary life. However, it is likely to fit in very well in my playroom.
Besides taking into consideration the decoration has to decide what kind of hidden camera you want. There are basically 3 types:
1 / Wireless
2 / Cable
3 / Self contained
With the wireless hidden camera that took the element that contains the camera and a transmitter. This transmitter sends the video signal wirelessly to a receiver. The receiver is then connected to a recording device or a monitor or TV for viewing.
Hidden Camera Wired have an A / V cable running from the unit to be connected directly to a device recording or TV or monitor.
Self contained hidden camera and the camera will have a recording device, usually a memory card SD, hidden within it. To see what has been recorded, simply take the memory card and place the unit into your computer for viewing. This type is usually the easier to configure.
There are many options available when purchasing a hidden camera: black and white or color, the ability of low light, motion sensor, date and time stamp, etc. You will be able to find the camera that fits your needs and budget.
The conclusion is that no matter what style or type of hidden camera you buy, make sure you are buying is a legitimate reason, ethics and use it properly.
