Digital Cameras? SLR? Nikon?

Personally I think Nikon or Canon, because I have some friends who are photographers, sorta, and generally talk about those marks. So much information needed but a way I can understand. First, today most digital SLRs are really easy to use. I had a Nikon D80 for a little less than a year and love it. I went to local camera shops and stores and explains exactly what I was looking for and had discussions with staff about the different cameras. Apart from this, too conducted research at the Nikon website. As for the "D700" versus a "D80" (for example), Nikon's website does a good job of explain the differences. Each camera comes with different options and features, which gives a different title. Basically, you have to do is decide what features you need. Mine were: 1. 10 + Megapixels (the amount of these affect the quality of print) 2. Zoom (I had to buy a telephoto lens) 3. For I had room to grow (although I'm not professional, I need it for school, so I need as many features available to me as possible). know None of this is easy to help, but how to go find it.
