What about racial diversity / anti-Semitic insults being pushed by celebrities lately?
First Mel Gibson and Michael Richards now they have made news by racial and anti-Semitic slurs, which will be next? Mel Gibson became agitated after he was arrested in the Pacific Coast Highway and told I was going to be arrested for drunk driving in Malibu. He went into a fit yelling "mother f **** r. I'm going to f *** you." That was directed to a deputy, " F ***** g Jews … The Jews are responsible for all wars in the world. "After saying that Mel asked the deputy," Are you a Jew? " and also made that night to offend the woman, saying: "What do you think you're looking at the breasts of sugar?" to a female sergeant who passed him in the hallway as he was booked. Michael Richards, better known as Krammer from Seinfeld, went on a racial Tyria while performing at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. The camera has taken these comments: "It's an * gger! Is an * gger! Is an * gger! A n * gger, look, there's an * gger!" Among others. Why there is a sudden explosion of celebrities using hate speech?
I think it's something in the water in Los Angeles, I am a white woman, was stunned at what they heard and saw my god, after what I saw on TMZ.com of Michael Richards, I was literally ready to throw up! What could possibly make someone act that way? That was more than "a mistake." A mistake like that comes from somewhere deep within the person and showed his true colors through. I'm sick and very sad about all these recent developments. It's almost Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza season and let's all remember that we are all human beings and as such, deserve to be treated with respect. I think Michael Richards apology is a form of "denial," he continued, was not a racist, but I do not think I could say those words in a voice filled with such hatred and anger without being a racist. No doubt he believes he is not racist because they're in denial, but I think his words and actions speak the truth. I am appalled that the claim for the reason that exploded was because he was being "interrupted." I am sure that in his many years as a comedian, has been interrupted in the past without having a terrible reaction on their part. Also, I'm sure some of the troublemakers in the past have been targeted and but said nothing angry and hateful (which became the news anyway) about them. So I think that is racist in its content. I would also add that I think what Jerry Seinfeld did last night was admirable. Michael Richards forced him to confront the issue and make a public apology. Jerry has a lot of class and did a very sensitive and dignified. He managed to prove that he was displeased with his friend and his feelings, while management stood behind him. I was also impressed with the fact that when the audience at the Letterman program laughed, told them "not to laugh, not funny." Not seem to mind her " image "as much as others, and that he risked dialing the entire audience. He trusts himself, his career and his beliefs. KUDOS
