New Nikon D3000 – Nikon D3000 Takes on the Canon Rebel XSi
Some years ago, Canon was the first to launch a sub-$ 1,000 camera with the Rebel 300D. Nikon followed quickly with the Nikon D40, and later versions of Canon's digital SLR and Nikon entry level have been able to increase the technology and lower prices for these highly regarded cameras with each new release. Both Canon and Nikon have had an excellent record in the area of user satisfaction.
So how Nikon has improved its new pot with the D3000? There have been some significant improvements over the popular D40 who has been suspended from production. There are also some improvements in the D60, which also is aging as the years go camera. Here are some of the improvements over the Nikon D60:
- Panel LCD is better than 2.7 "to 3"
- Autofocus has increased from 3 point appreciation recognition to 11 points
- 3D rendering AF
- The starting price is $ 599 (including kit lens)
With respect to the Canon Rebel XSi is the starting price even lower for Nikon to Canon, although the price of Canon XSi has declined since the launch of the Rebel T1i its newest processor and video capability. Some things to consider as you ponder your decision to buy the camera.
- D3000 Neither Nikon or the Canon Rebel XSi has video, so if you must have video on your DSLR, you will need to spend a little longer to get to the next level, either the Nikon or Canon D5000 Rebel T1i.
- Both Houses produce great images. This has been true with all entry level cameras from Nikon and Canon – the award winning image quality.
- Both models allow the use line of interchangeable lenses designed for these digital SLR cameras and more expensive. Other targets manufacturers also produce quality lenses for Canon and Nikon may be less expensive.
If you are inclined towards the D3000 Nikon or the Canon Rebel XSi, you be happy with their choice. The target = "_new"> vs. Nikon debate Canon will not matter one chooses, but once you make your purchase, you can participate in discussions and fun in the forums and camera clubs.
