Does the Panasonic DMC-LZ6 has a Leica lens or Panasonic?
I have a digial camera – Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ6. I thought that all cameras Lumix with Leica lenses. But it says its a "Lumix DC Vario" lens. Other similar models say they have a "Leica DC VARIO-lens. Also it does not say "Leica" on the front of the lens body like other Lumix cameras. Panasonic's website and manual are not of much help either. So if these are two different objectives, the Leica is much better than the others thanks?.
Leica does not make the lenses for Panasonic Lumix digital point and shoot cameras. Under a license agreement, Panasonic is allowed to print the Leica brand on products that meet the manufacturing and quality standards deemed appropriate by Leica. "(1) Further, the Panasonic Lumix LZ is the budget of the company-series digital cameras compact for the LZ6 certainly not at the height of the Leica brand, simply from a marketing perspective. Therefore, does not mean bad or a camera lens of a bad only because it is labeled with the famous nickname. The same applies to Kodak and Samsung Schneider Kreuznach lens, and Sony with Carl Zeiss lenses. The optical quality of the manufacturers do not have the ability to mass produce parts for consumer goods.
