Neither company is bad. The cameras they produce are just made for different consumers. Fujifilm cameras usually are directed at a more sophisticated user. While you're at it, you might want a look at the Panasonic cameras, which have Leica lenses. Also look at Canon and Nikon, while you're doing your research. See link below
