Any suggestions on 35mm SLR cameras for beginners?
My daughter is in art / photography 101 and need a 35mm SLR. What brands or models do you recommend? IS USED camera worth Thanks vs. new brand? education for all! I ended up buying a Canon EOS used and the kit with 3 lenses Decent for its pod and tripod for $ 250. So we should start with your SLR I've invested in several digital cameras for her. A camera that lets you use with a budget for lenses. In that area, I would suggest Nikon or Canon, as they have the biggest support systems and selection of the lens, including lens manufacturers 3rd party. If she is watching the 35 mm SLR, I'd be Nikon FM series as it is a solid all metal measuring manual focus camera manual. The current version is the FM-10 and sells for under $ 250 with lens. The N-series cameras are lighter build, but have full automatic settings. If she is looking at digital, I would like to see a used D70 or D50. I have two D70 myself and recently bought a D50.
